CESJDS Alumni Board of Advisors

The CESJDS Alumni Board of Advisors is an elected board which works alongside the Director of Alumni Relations to engage alumni through outreach, programming, and communications. The focus of the Alumni Board is to connect in the following ways: alumni to other alumni, alumni to current CESJDS students, faculty, and staff, and alumni with the larger CESJDS Jewish community.

Sharon Byer '06, Co-Chair

Sharon Byer ’06 graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2010 with a degree in Strategic Communications from the School of Journalism. Upon graduating, she continued moving west to San Francisco starting a career in advertising. In 2016, she was finally ready to move back east to NYC. Sharon works at the advertising agency Droga5 where she has led and managed a variety of accounts including United Rentals, Chase for Business, Mattress Firm, Ancestry.com, and Audible. Sharon’s sister, Amy, graduated from JDS in 2008.

Gabrielle Charnoff '10 

Gabrielle (Gabi) Charnoff ’10 earned her BA magna cum laude from the University of Miami.  She majored in Economics and International Studies, with a double minor in Political Science and Business Administration, and was in the Honors Program. Gabi is an Associate at SoftBank Latin America in Miami, Florida. 

Gabi has been involved with the Multifaith Alliance for Syrian Refugees, an organization that supports aid efforts to internally displaced and urban refugees from the Syrian civil war.  She is also an active fundraiser for the Michael J Fox Parkinson’s foundation, in honor of her father.  

Four of Gabi’s brothers and sisters attended JDS, as well as two of her nephews.

Beth (Lemberger) Frank ’83

Beth (Lemberger) Frank ’83 is a middle school math teacher at Berman Hebrew Academy. She lives in Brookeville, MD with her husband and almost sixteen-year-old twins. In her free time, she likes to read historical fiction, exercise outdoors (weather permitting), and spend time with her family and friends. After attending the 2nd Annual Schmooze-a-Palooza in February 2018, she was motivated to become more involved with the JDS alumni community and to collaborate with others to plan for engaging alumni events.

Adam Goldfarb ’11

Adam graduated from JDS in 2011 and Tulane University in 2015 with a degree in Political Science. His two older brothers Michael 05' and Scott 07' also graduated from JDS and his father, Saul, was part of the first JDS class in 1978. Adam works in the hospitality industry with experience in hotels and software designed for hotels. Adam currently lives in Washington DC with two friends that he met in Kindergarten at JDS.

Rebecca (Bromberg) Hall '96

Rebecca (Bromberg) Hall  '96 attended JDS from Grade 2 through Grade 12, where she spent much of her time outside of the classroom singing in various musicals, and in the first iteration of the JDS a cappella group. She attended Emory University followed by Teacher's College at Columbia University. She has spent the vast majority of her professional career in education, first at The Buckley School in Shermans Oaks, CA, followed by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Columbia. She is now Associate Director of College Counseling at Hackley School in Tarrytown, NY. She lives with her husband, Eric, and children Aria (age 6) and Owen (age 21 months) on campus at Hackley School.

Maya Lieber '12

Maya attended JDS from Kindergarten through Grade 12, and was the last of her siblings to graduate from the School.  While a student at JDS, Maya was very involved in Zimriyah and arts nights.  She also danced ballet outside of school at Maryland Youth Ballet.  After graduating from JDS, Maya attended University of Maryland, College Park and received a degree in Civil Engineering and a minor in Sustainability Studies in 2016.  She currently works as an engineer for Clark Construction. Fun fact: Maya studied abroad in Copenhagen and biked everywhere!

Dan Reichmann '88

Dan Reichmann ’88 attended Georgetown University for his Bachelor and Master’s degrees, and the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland for his MBA. He lives in Rockville, MD. All three of his children, Ari (Grade 9), Alex (Grade 9), and Kira (Grade 7), have attended CESJDS since Kindergarten. Dan works for the General Services Administration as a Product Manager in the Office of Fleet Management. He would rather be photographing Montgomery County Road Runner Club (MCRRC) races, coaching soccer, or volunteering for Montgomery Soccer Inc. (MSI) and the Maryland Medical Reserve Corp.

Eric Silberg '95, Co-Chair

Eric Silberg ’95 is a JDS lifer. After graduating, he attended Cornell University and earned his bachelor’s degree and University of Maryland, College Park for a master’s degree in aerospace engineering. He works for the Navy at NSWC Carderock and is Director of the Unmanned Aerial Systems Lab. Most importantly, Eric is married to Mira Silberg and together they have two children, Alec (Grade 9) and Lyla (Grade 6) both of whom attend CESJDS.

Matt Terl '94

Matt Terl '94 attended JDS from Grade 1 through Grade 12 and still vaguely wonders if he missed anything important in Kindergarten. A practical-minded, sensible person, he earned a B.A. in English - Creative Writing from the University of Maryland, College Park, and an M.A. in English - Creative Writing from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He lives in Brookeville with his wife Erika and their kids Penelope (Grade 7) and Noah (Grade 5), both of whom attend CESJDS.
