The Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School seeks qualified candidates to fill the position of Visual Arts Teacher, a Long-Term Substitute position for a period of up to 7-8 weeks starting in April, 2018.

The ideal candidate will be a dynamic individual who is able to infuse a passion for the arts within his or her classroom and the school community as a whole. In search of candidates who will offer exciting arts experiences to all of our students, not only those taking art courses.

REQUIREMENTS

BA in Art or Art Education or related experience; Master's degree in Art or Art education preferred. Ability to teach middle and high school students; two or more years of formal teaching experience required.

Candidate should be able to teach the following:

• Middle School Art and Design
• Middle School Sculpture
• High School Art and Design

This position requires involvement in the design and set up of our end-of-year Arts celebration (Arts Chai-lights). The candidate should be able to stand on a ladder to hang artwork as well as lift 20 lbs.
