Athletics at CESJDS

Creating a competitive and inclusive environment to instill a life-long love of athletics

The CESJDS athletic program prides itself on providing an athletic arena for all levels of athletes to compete and grow. We offer athletic programming to all of our upper school students (6th-12th) with an opportunity to compete in the Potomac Valley Athletic Conference. The goal of our athletic program is to create life-long lovers of fitness and sport as well as to ensure our athletes learn valuable life-lessons regarding teamwork, competition, and communication.

At the Middle School Level, we offer practice teams in addition to competitive teams to ensure that all athletes receive opportunities to participate and develop, regardless of skill level. Our competitive teams participate in league tournaments with the opportunity to win championship banners.

At the High School level, our teams focus more on competition, as well as skill development and teamwork. Our varsity and junior varsity teams compete for championship banners that we proudly display in our gymnasium.

Athletic Facilities

Our Upper School campus includes the Daniel Pearl Memorial Gymnasium, four tennis courts, two soccer fields, a softball field, a baseball field, a weight room, and an Athletic Training room. The Lower School campus includes two full gymnasiums, and a wrestling room.

Magnus Information

Please make sure you have all of your completed Athletics forms on Magnus (new students and incoming 6th graders do not need a special sports physical). In order to see the Athletic Forms on Magnus, select that the student will be participating in athletics, otherwise those forms stay hidden.

Being involved in athletics is about more than just competing. Athletics provide a sense of teamwork and cooperation that can cross over into the classroom, relationships, and the workplace. CESJDS athletes will be able to graduate with a love of sport that will last them a lifetime.Becky Silberman, Director of Athletics
