Music and Performing Arts
Music is an essential ingredient of learning, celebration, and daily activity at CESJDS. In the music classroom, students grow as listeners and performers as they explore basic musical concepts of rhythm, melody, harmony, texture, and form. Our comprehensive music program provides hands-on experiences for children to learn through, singing, listening, moving, playing instruments, composing, and critiquing.
Music is central to the balanced curriculum and is integrated across the educational program. In music class, students may learn geography, history, Yiddish, or Ladino. Equally, in their academic classrooms, they may sing and perform to enhance their understanding of subjects from math to social studies.
