International Boarding Students

Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School (CESJDS) welcomes students from across the globe to attend high school (grades 9-12). We invite them to experience learning and culture in a vibrant and diverse Jewish community in the Washington DC area! Students can come for a year of growth or for all four years of high school to prepare for a path in higher education in the United States. Students will build an international network and experience life in the United States. Furthermore, students will have access to largest library, museum and research complex in the world.

Students will live with families who currently have students at CESJDS through a Homestay Program.  The Homestay Program will match students with CESJDS families who are warm, welcoming, and well-educated, who value academics in the home, and are excited to introduce our international students to American culture. Homestay students will fully participate in school life and activities.

Students who plan to graduate from CESJDS will work with College Guidance Counselors who provide a holistic process beginning in the spring of 10th grade. The counselors work closely with each student to find the right fit and next step in their academic career.

International students follow all of the same application guidelines as our local applicants. We welcome visits to the CESJDS campus—however, please call for an appointment at least 48 hours in advance of your arrival so that we may best accommodate your request. Please visit www.cesjds.org/apply to begin the application process.

If you would like more information after reviewing the application details, please do not hesitate to call the Admission Office at 301-692-4908 or email us at admission@cesjds.org.
