STEP 5: Schedule Student Assessments, Visit Days, & Interviews
: As part of the Admission Process, I would like to schedule a time for STUDENT NAME to visit the CESJDS Upper School for a tour or visit day, interview, and academic screening. These are not barriers to acceptance; they are really just additional ways to get to know who your student is as a potential student and learner in our community.
Tour or Visit
Once you've submitted your application the Admission Team will reach out to schedule a tour. The curated tour will provide your student with an opportunity to drop in on portions of classes, meet with relevant faculty/staff, meet with students, and get a general sense of how we do school at CESJDS.
During the shadow day, visitors have a choice to complete their interview and academic screening. However, these requirements can be scheduled separately.
Interview
Your student will have a 30-minute conversational interview with two members of our Admission Committee, which includes teachers, guidance counselors, and administrators. This is a “getting to know you” conversation for both the student and interviewers.
Student Assessments
All Upper School applicants will complete a 60-minute academic screening for math and a more comprehensive writing sample for the remaining time. The writing sample helps us get to know how they reads, writes, and thinks.
