Social-Emotional and Experiential Learning

Jewish Journeys

Jewish Journeys is an experiential curriculum designed to celebrate many different pathways to Jewish community and Jewish identity.  It is a spiraling curriculum meant to revisit the same themes throughout middle school and deepen our students’ appreciation for the many different expressions of Jewish life and culture.

Rikuz

Rikuz is the Middle School advisory period focused on social-emotional skills and mental health, executive functioning and learning skills.  Each class provides an opportunity to explore themes using the communication tool of Council in Schools by the Ojai Foundation. Additionally, every week the classes will explore skills that are being taught or used in their core curriculum classes in order to reinforce these skills.  The purpose of this block is to help students fully develop the social, emotional, and academic skills that are the foundation of all the learning occurring in the middle school.
