Civic Leadership
Janet Ozur Bass
Civic Leadership focuses on fostering ethical, responsible, and compassionate global citizens as shared in our CESJDS Portrait of A Graduate. Most importantly, our overarching goal is to foster student’s ability to practice civil discourse - engaging respectfully in difficult conversations and listening actively to other perspectives to broaden one’s understanding of an issue. Throughout this course, students will prepare for their 8th Grade Capstone Project and 8th Grade Bridges Capstone Experience to the South.
This course challenges our students to engage in difficult conversations. We are committed to providing a balanced and educational approach so that our students can have a robust and authentic learning experience, and gain the independent thinking skills to be ethical, responsible, and compassionate global citizens.
