Science

High School science at CESJDS is a lab-based program with lab groups that average 2 students. Emphasis is placed on building strong scientific foundations, application of concepts, and analysis of data using logical reasoning. Our labs provide opportunities for our scientists to apply their scientific knowledge by performing traditional and cutting edge experiments. 9th grade scientists study molecular biology. 10th grade scientists study chemistry and have the option of studying a second science (either Genetics & Biotechnology I ADV or Physics I ADV). 11th grade science offers our scientists the opportunity to study their scientific field (or fields) of choice (Chemistry, Genetics, Physics). 12th grade offers our scientists a wealth of elective choices: Anatomy & Physiology, Bioengineering, Genetics & Biotechnology, Organic Chemistry, and Physics. The knowledge and skills taught in our science courses have assisted many students in attaining highly competitive internships at prestigious research institutions such as the NIH, FDA, NIST, NASA, Walter Reed, the Technion, and the Weizmann Institute of Science.
