Math

Math provides students with tools to make sense of the world analytically. Our classes are problem-solving laboratories where students exercise and hone their numerical and logical tools. Students are taught to reduce big problems to series of smaller problems. All of our students engage in different ways with what we see as the key purposes of high school mathematics: skill-building, authentic struggle, real-world relevance, argumentation and proof, conceptual engagement, and rigor. Our classes are heavy in discussion and discovery, and students are encouraged to personalize their relationships with the discipline.
