Model Congress

Each Spring, our 8th graders hold a Model Congress event. Model Congress is an experiential project that allows students to learn about Congressional committees, draft legislation, present legislation to committees and debate proposed legislation as members of the House of Representatives. The culmination of the project allows students to assume the role of Representatives debating on the House Floor the various legislation that they had created. Each student brings their research, voice and opinions on these bills which results in 8 fantastic debates on real political issues.
