Samuel J. Lessans Fourth Grade Havdalah Service

Each year, we hold our annual Sara and Samuel J. Lessans Fourth Grade Havdalah Service. Havdalah is a brief service which brings the observance of Shabbat to a formal close. The word “havdalah” literally means “to separate” or “to distinguish.” This service lives up to its name by creating a separation between the holy day of Shabbat and the rest of the week. Our 4th Graders sing songs, and perform Israeli dances for our community.
