Upper School Educators Participate in The Science of Teaching and School Leadership Academy

Five Upper School educators, including representatives from the middle school, high school and administration, participated in The Science of Teaching and School Leadership Academy from July 22-26, 2018. This five-day deep dive into Mind, Brain, Education (MBE) science and how this research can inform, validate, and transform teaching and learning is a key component of the Upper School's on-going relationship with the Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning (CTTL) at St. Andrew's Episcopal School. The CESJDS team designed action research projects aimed at deepening students' learning through use of research-informed strategies, met with researchers at Johns Hopkins University to see research in action and better understand the pipeline translating research to practical application, and networked with educators from 22 states and 4 countries while learning from some of the best minds in the MBE field. We are excited to lead the rest of the Upper School faculty in this work as we kick off our relationship with CTTL this August during Upper School Professional Week.
