Living our Mission of Tikkun Olam

Eighteen of our CESJDS High School students have been visiting the Shriver Elementary School in Silver Spring to help the teachers in their classrooms and work with the students. The School is a Title 1 school in which 85% of the students live below the poverty line of $25,000 for a family of four. In addition to volunteering, our students led a Toy Drive to help guarantee that every child in the school (970 students from two years old – 5th grade) would receive a holiday gift this year, something their parents cannot generally afford. Our Upper School students proved that they are living the mission of Tikkun Olam, repairing the world. We are so proud of them for collecting and donating over 1000 toys for children less fortunate. Mazel Tov to all who participated.
