Yesterday, we hosted the Regional Cadena Competition for the Washington DC Area. The competition challenges students to design something that will help individuals before, during and/or after a natural disaster. Our teams submitted written proposals, digital posters, a video and created prototypes for their ideas. Last week we had an In-House competition to narrow our seven teams down to three. Our three teams competed against five teams from Berman Hebrew Academy and JDS teams took 1st and 3rd place. We had four judges, including two individuals from the Cadena Organization.
First Place went to Remy & Samantha Eidelman and 3rd Place went to Isaac Kreisler & Joshua Gale. Remy and Samantha have the opportunity to travel to Mexico City to be part of a service project and to compete with teams all around the world. The winner of the International Competition will have their project implemented by the Cadena Organization. Great work to all of the students from Berman Hebrew Academy and our JDS teams!
