CESJDS Hosts First Community Hackathon
We held our very first Community Hackathon and hosted 32 high school students from 9 different schools in the DMV! Students competed in groups of 2-4 and had 9 hours to design and prototype something to help teenagers with independent travel. While some groups designed apps to help young drivers, others focused on providing websites and other resources for out-of-state and international travel. At the end of the event, groups pitched their ideas to a panel of judges who then decided on a winner.
Aliza Rabinovitz, a JDS Senior, proposed the idea of hosting a Hackathon. She worked closely with Mrs. Cassandra Batson, Upper School STEM Coordinator, to organize and host the event. We look forward to next year's Community Hackathon.
