Upper School Arts
Learn more about the music program at the Upper School, including how we highlight our student musicians at special events.
In addition to taking creative writing classes, students may submit poetry, prose or artwork to any one of our literary magazines: Reflections – the high school literary magazine, Collage – the middle school literary magazine, Lo Ha’ari – the Hebrew literary magazine, and The Melting Pot – the Romance language literary magazine. Visit the Creative Writing page to view an online copy of each publication.
Students in all grades are able to take advantage of the cultural richness of the Washington, DC area by visiting the Smithsonian and other art galleries as well as attend professional theater performances ranging from experimental productions to large Broadway musicals.
Each spring we have Visual Arts Trip Day, and students in each grade attend a different institution. Last spring our student visited the:
- National Gallery of Art
- National Portrait Gallery
- American Art Museum
- Freer and Sackler Galleries
- American Visionary Art Museum
