Lower School Admissions
In our Lower School (grades K-6), we foster a love of learning. We have created an environment where children feel safe, loved, challenged and appreciated. Our faculty works hard to instill a feeling of self-worth and self-confidence in each child
Our children, even at a young age, become critical thinkers by grappling with difficult concepts individually and among their peers and teachers. It is this intellectual engagement that gives our school its distinctive energy as children learn through interaction and exploration.
We urge you to visit our Lower School and see our children in action. You can’t help but see the passion and excitement infused in our hallways.
Admission to the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School is based on a student’s academic qualifications as well as his/her potential to contribute to and benefit from the life of the School. While most students enter in kindergarten or 1st grade, there are programs in place to facilitate the smooth transition for lateral-entry students who are further along in their academic career.
CESJDS is committed to enrolling students from diverse academic, religious and economic backgrounds. The School provides financial assistance to families who otherwise would not have the opportunity to benefit from a Jewish education.
