Meet the Assistant Head of School

Susan Brinn Siegel
Chief Financial and Operating Officer

Susan Brinn Siegel has served in the professional leadership of CESJDS for 13 years. Her financial stewardship of the school began several years earlier in the roles of Board Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee for Operation Excellence, the capital project responsible for the construction of the Upper School and renovation of the Lower School. In these roles, Susan secured the landmark first tax-exempt bond financing for a Jewish day school in the United States.

Over the past 12 years, Susan has restructured the operations and financial management of the school to align with the needs of a growing, thriving and enduring educational institution. She has led strategic and financial planning, strengthened the school’s finances and financial controls, professionalized investment management, and restructured and administered the tuition assistance program. Susan’s leadership of the school’s successful initiative in the area of technology integration into the classroom has placed CESJDS at the forefront of American schools. Most recently, Susan has assumed responsibility for student recruitment and for marketing and communications. She is proud to have led the team responsible for designing and building the school’s dynamic new website.

Susan’s experience prior to joining CESJDS included banking, consulting and corporate financial and treasury management. She headed the Hong Kong office of Corestates Bank, where she was responsible for clients in Hong Kong, Taiwan and China. She was a consultant for ICF, Incorporated, where she worked in the areas of international trade and environmental regulation. As the Finance Director at Martin Marietta, she was responsible for international trade and for oversight of minority investments. Susan has served on the boards of numerous not-for-profit organizations.  She has a B.A. in Oriental Studies from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in Finance from the University of Michigan.

Susan and her husband David are the proud parents of four CESJDS alumni: Michelle ('03), Julie ('05), Andy ('11) and Becca ('11).
