History

In the basement of Chevy Chase’s Ohr Kodesh Congregation in 1965, seven Jewish children started school as the first class of what would someday become the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School. Fifty years later, we are marking the occasion by bringing our history to life.

Israel

With a strong personal and ongoing relationship with Israel, its history, people, and culture, we are celebrating our love of Isreal or Ahavat Yisra-el. Relive timeless memories of Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, Masada, Tel Aviv Beach, the Jordan River, the Golan Heights and beyond.

Athletics

With 12 sports, 33 teams and countless championships across 16 varsity sports, the School has emerged as a dominant force in the Potomac Valley Athletic Conference. To celebrate, we are inaugurating our first-ever class into the CESJDS Athletic Hall of Fame.

Arts

At CESJDS, we embrace creativity from kindergarten through 12th grade, paving the way for spectacular pieces of student artwork and dazzling performances. Celebrate the visual and performing arts, including an A Cappella Reunion as we sing our perennial favorites.
