The Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School has an immediate opening for an Associate Director of Campaign and Alumni Relations in the Office of Development. This position is an exciting opportunity for a motivated development professional to join a dynamic, stimulating work environment and play an important part in the strategic growth of an already outstanding academic institution.
The Associate Director of Campaign and Alumni Relations will formulate and carry out comprehensive fundraising campaign strategies and develop effective and meaningful alumni relations programs. Reporting directly to the Director of Development, s/he will perform the following:
Fundraising Cultivation and Solicitation Duties:
- Identify and cultivate donors and conduct gift solicitations at all giving levels, focusing on, but not limited to, alumni and alumni parents
Alumni Relations Duties:
In coordination with the Director of Development, continue to grow the CESJDS alumni relations program.
- Coordinate class milestone reunions
- Maintain ongoing program of stewardship of alumni
- Create, write and distribute alumni e-mail communications including quarterly newsletter, It’s Wednesday and bi-monthly Alumni Spotlight
- plan regional gatherings
- Identify, recruit, and retain alumni volunteers
- Engage with and encourage graduating juniors and seniors to maintain their connection to CESJDS after graduation
- Develop, plan, and implement all alumni events
- Manage alumni social networking sites, including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter
- Gather contact information for alumni and enter into Raiser’s Edge and Constant Contact
- Work closely with Director of Development to design and produce 50th Anniversary celebration and endowment campaign
- Other duties as assigned
Campaign Duties:
- Produce reports from Raiser’s Edge to document and analyze campaign status and progress, including preparing reports for Board of Directors
- Manage campaign solicitors
- Create Ma’ayan mail and e-mail appeals for all constituencies (parents, grandparents, alumni, alumni parents)
- Plan and implement annual donor recognition and cultivation events
- Ambassador Circle Dinner
- Head of School Reception
- Fellner Lecture
- Plan and implement annual Dial-a-thon
- Other duties as assigned
Experience:
- 5-7 years of fundraising experience with proven results
- Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge fundraising database, and social media a plus
- Must be proficient in Word and Excel
- Bachelor’s degree required
Will require weekend and evening work, and some travel.
